May 21, 2013 (Tulsa, Okla.) – The SMG-managed BOK Center was highlighted in the May issue of industry trade publication Venues Today as a leader in ticket sales and social media presence.

The venue finished third in Venues Today Midwest Top Stops for venues with a capacity between 15,001-30,000. The annual rankings are based on concert and event grosses from 3/1/12 through 2/28/13. During that time period, the BOK Center hosted 101 ticketed events, grossing $15,018,715 with a total event attendance of 539,570.

Xcel Energy Center (St. Paul, Minn.) finished in the top spot while the Target Center (Minneapolis) came in second. The SMG-managed Chesapeake Energy Arena (Oklahoma City) placed fourth with the Sprint Center (Kansas City) rounding out the top five. The rankings were featured in the May issue of the industry trade magazine.

“Thanks to promoters who bring the top acts, and to the fans who continue to buy tickets, the BOK Center continues to rank as one of the nation’s top venues,” said SMG General Manager John Bolton.

Also in the May issue of Venues Today, the BOK Center finished 15th in the mid-year Social Media Power 100 Chart ranking for venues with a capacity of 15,001-30,000. The quarterly feature measures a facility’s influence on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. The BOK Center currently has more than 43,000 Facebook followers and nearly 13,000 Twitter followers. The venues presence on Instagram and mobile apps for both iPhones and Droids also contributed to its strong ranking. Follow the BOK Center on Twitter @bokcenter and on Instagram @bokcenter.
