BOK CENTER SURPASSES $100 MILLION IN TICKET SALES
(Tulsa, Okla.) March 29, 2013 – The SMG-managed BOK Center achieved another milestone last month surpassing the $100 million mark in ticket sales since the venue opened in September 2008.
Ticket sale figures were compiled from 803 events held at the BOK Center from the opening in September 2008 through February 2013, with a combined attendance of more than 3.2 million guests. In September of 2012 the BOK Center surpassed the $10 million mark in sales-tax revenues.
“We couldn’t be more proud of the success the BOK Center has achieved since opening in 2008,” said SMG General Manager John Bolton. “Tulsa is a must-play market for the top tours in the industry because we’ve shown time and time again that we can sell tickets.”
During that time period, the BOK Center hosted some of the most memorable tours of all-time including the Eagles, which opened the venue in 2008. Other events include: Celine Dion, Billy Joel / Elton John, Tom Petty, Oklahoma City Thunder Pre-season games, Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Sir Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, 2011 NCAA Men’s Division 1 Basketball Championship 2nd & 3rd Rounds, and George Strait.
