SMG TULSA TURNS VENUES BLUE IN SUPPORT OF AUTISM AWARENESS

(Tulsa, Okla.) April 2, 2013 – The SMG-managed BOK Center and Tulsa Convention Center have turned blue in support of Autism Awareness. The BOK Center will display blue lights on the venue’s Icon Wall beginning April 2, 2013 for one week. The Tulsa Convention Center will show support by turning the Ballroom lobby lights blue.

Each April, Autism Speaks encourages buildings to Light It Up Blue in commemoration of the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day. Buildings from around the world will participate including the Empire State Building (New York), the Great Pyramids (Giza, Egypt) and the Sydney Opera House (Sydney, Australia).

Participation is part of SMG Tulsa’s community service initiative “SMG ROCKS THIS TOWN” which was established in 2011. The committee’s mission is to better the community through service and charitable giving. Other projects include food drives, volunteering and ticket donations.
